World of Speed and Lanphere Auto Group to Sponsor Grand Prix of Portland
Local motorsports museum and dealership network celebrate IndyCar’s return to Portland
WILSONVILLE, Ore. (Aug. 3, 2018) — World of Speed, a Wilsonville, Ore.-based nonprofit motorsports museum, is proud to announce that it will be a sponsor of the upcoming Grand Prix of Portland racing event held over Labor Day weekend, August 31 – September 2, in partnership with Lanphere Auto Group and Motorcycles.
World of Speed will be hosting an interactive space at the Grand Prix event. Attendees are welcome to stop by the World of Speed tent for fun activities like motorsports trivia questions about IndyCar and Portland International Raceway, Pinewood Derby racing, a photo wall, and more. The location will provide a space for attendees to relax and sit in the shade while their children enjoy the kid-friendly tent.
“We’re really excited to have IndyCar back in Portland,” said World of Speed Curator Ron Huegli. “Indy cars raced at PIR for 24 years, and there were some fantastic races — some of the greatest names in IndyCar raced here, adding to the rich motorsports history of the Pacific Northwest. Together with our friends at Lanphere Auto Group, World of Speed is honored to be a part of the Grand Prix of Portland and IndyCar’s return to our great city.”
World of Speed is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday and Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. For membership and pricing information, visit worldofspeed.org.
