Garry Harrocks presents a Volunteer Talk on the Ford GT Mark IV. This race car is the culmination of an ego-driven act of revenge that changed the face of motorsports in the 1960s. Ford, looking for an image boost, entered into merger discussions with Enzo Ferrari only to be rebuffed at the last minute. After finally breaking through to win Le Mans in 1966, Ford unleashed the American designed and constructed Mark IV in 1967. While it only raced twice, it won both races convincingly.
