SPEED TOWARD A CURE
Saturday, September 8
11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
World of Speed Motorsports Museum and Mascots for a Cure are teaming up for a very special event to raise awareness about childhood cancer. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and these two organizations are working together to bring hope, joy, and love to children in our community who are battling this disease.
Mascots for a Cure will be inviting superheroes and princesses from Dragon Theater Puppets and Princesses as well as local area mascots from some of your favorite teams, universities, and companies to help entertain children and families. The day will feature a wide array of activities including face painting, balloon animals, photo ops with your favorite mascots, and a special Twist Challenge.
Mascots for a Cure is a local nonprofit organization based in Portland, OR with a national reach. Mascots for a Cure works with mascots all across the nation from the five major leagues (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and MLS) as well as corporate mascots, university mascots, minor league mascots, and high school mascots to help bring children across the nation hope, joy, and love as well as arming them with the courage and strength they will need during their battle with cancer. Mascots for a Cure facilitates both hospital and home visits for children who are battling cancer, and helps to organize memorable events for these children and their families. All activities are free with admission to the museum. Donations for Mascots for a Cure are welcome as well.
