Join World of Speed for this special presentation by seven time Indianapolis 500 racer and 1992 Rookie of the Year, Lyn St. James. This was the first time the “Rookie” title was bestowed upon a woman, and it is just one of Ms. St. James’ many achievements in the racing world. She has also been honored with numerous awards, racing wins and was recognized as one of the Top-100 Women Athletes of the Century by Sports Illustrated for Women. Ms. St. James will be speaking about her experiences racing at Indy, and the celebration of the 100th running of “America’s Race,” This program is presented in conjunction with World of Speed’s “Heroes and History” exhibit, which features a full starting grid of Indy cars, spanning the decades of the 500. Mark your calendars now to meet a racing icon.

Ms. St. James also serves as ambassador for the RPM Foundation, which is dedicated to ensuring the critical skills necessary to preserve and restore collector vehicles are not lost, and is featured in the current World of Speed “Women in Racing” exhibit. She will be signing copies of her book, “An Incredible Journey", after the presentation. Books will be available for purchase.
