Archive Month 2018 Photos & Papers Scan-a-Thon
If you have racing or motorsports-related photos or papers that you’d like scanned, this is for you! Preserve them digitally for free while also helping us preserve the rich history of motorsports. Sign up for a time slot online or stop by the Archive Room the weekend of October 27-28. During your time slot, the Archive staff will scan as many of your photos as possible on multiple high-resolution scanners and send you home with a USB flash drive filled with your photos or papers along with your returned original prints. The digital copies will then be added into our permanent collection in order to build, preserve and share the story of motorsports. Time slots are from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday or 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday. If you can’t make it, ask about our loan-to-digitize program.
As part of Archive Month, we are hosting events throughout October including the Archive Volunteers Talk (Oct 6), Archive Collection Gallery Showcase (Oct 13), and a free workshop Preserve Now, Find Later! (Oct 21). We will also be in the Oregon Archives Crawl (Oct 20) at the Multnomah Central Library where we also have an exhibit at the Collins Library through Oct 29.
